CHARLOTTE NICHOLS – AISTD (Dip) & member of NCDTA
I started my dance training at the age of 2 following my 3 older sisters to dance classes. I trained for 10 years part time at Doreen Bird College, and then won a scholarship from ILEA to attend Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom. Whilst there I gained my teaching qualifications in ballet, modern, tap and national and then a year after leaving gained my tap diploma. I opened pointers dance studio in 1994 and am very proud of all the children that have come through the school. Choreography has always been a big love of mine and I love seeing the children produce the finish article. We now do festivals in a big way and it’s great to see the children progress in them each year. It’s great to see their confidence grow with each performance.
HARRI NICHOLS – Diploma in Theatre Arts (The Centre Performing Arts College)
I trained at Pointers Dance Studio from the age of 2 to 16, and then continued full time at The Centre Performing Arts College for 3 years gaining my diploma in dance performance. Whilst at The Centre I took part in Move It show casing for the college and Images costumes on the main stage. In 2015 i won the TDCI South East of England senior tap & modern championships which enabled me to compete in the 2016 champion of champions at Blackpool. I have performed in 5 professional pantomimes with Evolution productions. I am also a level 2 qualified PT coach.
I’m a British Gymnastics qualified Mens and Womens Artistic gymnastics coach and I head the gymnastics classes at Pointers. We specialise in tumbling and floor work but also teach Vault, bars and beam. We tailor our gymnastics to help the children with their dances, especially the acro elements in their festival choreography.
I also have a strong background in theatrical sound and lighting. I also take all the schools photography and administer our web site.
